  • Go Cubs?

Having grown up watching the Cubs lose year after year, I've come to expect nothing but disappointing seasons and watchin other teams in the playoffs in October.  Some years were worse than others, and some were better.  The Cubs came close to finally making the World Series a few years ago, but as usual the ended up losing.  The aforementioned background is why I'm struggling with how to feel this year.  This year, the Cubs are in first place and they have great starting pitching, a good offense, and a good manager.  I don't even live in Chicago anymore but I can still feel the excitement and expectation underlying the current season.  Do I dare to believe that this finally the year?  I'm scared to get my hopes up but I can't ignore the success my team is having this season.  At this rate I don't know if I'll last until October!

  • It is sad when your team seems to do well when you're not around. It's even sadder when the team you love moves away and then does well, as the Rams did when they moved to St. Louis AND THEN win the Super Bowl. Anyway, I expect the Cubs will do well this year--not to jinx them of course. The Red Sox had their time in the sun. The Cubs are due...

  • good luck to your club. are you talking about baseball? it's not a popular sport here. but i they broadcast it live on espn here on saturday morning though.

  • 'don't stop believin...'  oh wait, that was the other chicago team's song.
